My upstairs neighbor

enjoys group humming

I know this because of frequent invitations he sends

when he drills into his walls

another has a fondness for percussion

which he shares with us through his steady hammer work

Our building’s asynchronous orchestra

is always training when it’s time to sleep

But it feels lonely without them.
